3.0 t and 5.0 t. Cite. The user information for this serial wins.
Retractable. Op Fam from Preston. Install is a licensed lift.
Crane-set. Anchors or MULTIPROP — host. User information for this serial.
Powered retractable. Install is a crane lift. Daily extend is host.
PURPOSE
Give the crew one method for installing, repositioning or striking a cantilever loading platform by crane. Rails, props, clamps and daily extend / retract stay with the host.
SCOPE
Operator, rigger and signalperson on a Doka, SuperDeck, CantiDeck, PERI RCS MP, DOC or other OEM loading platform. Not a how-to for propping, clamping, through-slab anchors, or rolling a SuperDeck in. Those belong to the manufacturer and the host. Landing materials onto a deck already in service is a separate lift — this SWP still names the WLL rule.
This document is the method — the steps. Hazards, consequence and residual risk for the same work are in the JHA library. A procedure is not a hazard analysis. A hazard analysis is not a procedure.
CITE — TYPICAL SYSTEMS. THIS SERIAL AND THE TYPE PLATE WIN.
| SYSTEM | KIND | SERVICE / WLL | WHAT THE CRANE FLIES |
|---|---|---|---|
| Doka 3.0 t — 2.45 × 3.20 m | Fixed cantilever | 3 000 kg | Empty. Dead weight ~1 580 kg + rigging. Not the service load. |
| Doka 5.0 t — 2.95 × 4.50 m | Fixed cantilever | 5 000 kg | Empty. Dead weight ~2 670 kg + rigging. |
| Preston SuperDeck 2.2 / 2.6 / 3.2 / 4.2 m | Retractable drawer | 5 000 kg typical | Empty. Host extends and retracts. Install is the crane lift. |
| Conquip CantiDeck Fixed Flush | Fixed cantilever | Type plate — often 5 000 kg | Empty. Props released before any hoist. |
| Conquip CantiDeck Super Roller | Retractable | Type plate | Empty. Stacked floors. Flush when retracted. |
| PERI RCS MP 375 / 550 | Material platform | This serial | Empty. Host anchors or MULTIPROP. |
| DOC | Powered retractable | 4 t | Empty. Host 110 V. Install / relocate by crane. |
HITCH RULES THAT REPEAT. OEM USER INFORMATION STILL WINS.
| RULE | WHO SAYS IT |
|---|---|
| Four designated lifting points. No improvised picks. | Doka. CantiDeck. |
| 4-leg chain as the OEM. Doka: 3.20 m, β ≤ 30°. | Doka. CantiDeck. |
| Empty only. No material. No persons. | Doka. CantiDeck. SuperDeck install. |
| Do not lift until props / clamps are released. | CantiDeck. Doka reposition. |
| Tag lines. Doka: one. CantiDeck: front and rear, opposite corners. | Doka. CantiDeck. |
| One platform at a time. | Doka. |
| Reposition wind — Doka 72 km/h, or the lower of crane / this SJP. | Doka. Chart. |
| Disconnect only after the host says landed — jacks tight, rails pinned. | CantiDeck. Doka. |
| Daily SuperDeck / Super Roller / DOC extend and retract is host. The crane is not hooked. | Preston FAQ. CantiDeck. DOC. |
PROCEDURE
- 01
GATE
OEM user information for this serial at the lift. Type plate. Engineered drawing if the site has one. Dead weight known (14.36) — empty, plus rigging. Not the service WLL. Pick points only as the OEM names. Wind — the lower of crane, manufacturer, this SJP. Doka cites 72 km/h while repositioning; a lower number still wins. GOSPEL-SJP-003 / FRM-053 filled. Critical lift plan. Radios tested. Pre-lift meeting immediately before this lift. Retractable or fixed — said. If any of that is missing, the hook does not take the deck.
- 02
HITCH
Four designated lifting points. Doka: welded points on the main beams. CantiDeck: the four points the user guide names. 4-leg chain as the OEM. Chain shorteners only if that guide uses them for hang. No two-point fly on a four-point deck. Inspect the hitch. Tag lines on — Doka one; CantiDeck front and rear, opposite corners.
- 03
EMPTY
No material. No persons. Doka: reposition empty only. SuperDeck install is empty. Loose gear off. One platform at a time. Fall protection at the slab edge (Part 11). Exclusion below.
- 04
RELEASE
Host releases props, clamps or through-slab anchors to the OEM. This procedure does not invent that sequence. CantiDeck: do not lift until the props are released. Take a little load, confirm free, then hoist. Do not strip with the crane.
- 05
FLY
Test lift. Hang as the OEM. Path. Tag lines. Wind. Hoist clear, then travel. A deck is a sail. Stop on any change. Do not fly over people (14.44).
- 06
LAND
Guide onto the slab. Host swings rails and props, pins them, clamps between slabs or sets through-slab anchors as the OEM. Doka: low storey — props laid flat only if that user information allows it. CantiDeck: screw jacks tight, thread as the guide. Do not disconnect until the platform supervisor says it is landed. Then release.
- 07
IN SERVICE
Landing materials onto the deck is a different lift. Chart capacity and remaining platform WLL both have to take the load. Unsupervised load on the deck is prohibited. The deck WLL is not a second chart for a pick the crane cannot hold.
- 08
RETRACTABLE
SuperDeck, CantiDeck Super Roller, DOC: daily extend and retract is host. Preston: no crane licence to roll it. The crane is not hooked while it moves as a drawer. Install, reposition and strike stay this SWP — empty, four points, props released.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This program
The published method for the work. Stop-work is named in it. It does not own the site.
Supervisor
Confirms the plan, the crew, the zone and the stop criteria. Owns whether the hook moves.
Crane operator
Runs only the machine they are competent on, to the chart, after inspection. Stops on an unclear signal or a broken plan.
Rigger
Selects, inspects and applies the hitch. Does not guess weight, centre of gravity or angle.
Signalperson
One set of hands on the crane. Holds the zone. STOP means stop.
Worker
Works to this program and to site rules — whichever is stricter. Uses the three rights. Reports damaged gear.
Platform supervisor (host)
Rails, props, clamps or through-slab anchors to the OEM and the engineered drawing. The crane crew does not invent a propping sequence. Says when the deck is landed and in service.
Prime contractor
Coordinates floors, exclusion, and who may land on the deck. Not a spectator.
REQUIRED COMPETENCY
- BC Crane Safety certificate for this crane class
- Critical-lift brief — everyone can repeat the abort
- Knows the four designated lifting points on this serial, not last floor’s memory
- Can say whether this deck is fixed or retractable, and who extends it
EQUIPMENT
- This crane, this chart
- 4-leg chain and hardware as the OEM — Doka 4-part 3.20 m, β ≤ 30° if that is this serial
- Tag lines
- Radios on the named channel
- GOSPEL-FRM-007, GOSPEL-FRM-009, GOSPEL-FRM-053
PPE
- Hard hat
- CSA-grade footwear
- High-visibility clothing
- Eye protection
- Task-rated gloves
- Hearing protection where required
- Fall protection where the work exposes a fall
PROHIBITED PRACTICES
- People or material on the deck while it flies
- Flying the service WLL as the pick weight
- Improvised pick points, missing legs, or a two-point fly on a four-point deck
- Hoisting with props or clamps still in
- Disconnect before the host says landed
- Using the crane to retract or extend a SuperDeck
- Last floor’s SJP for this serial
EMERGENCY RESPONSE
Deck hung up, dumped at the edge, dropped object, person in the zone, wind pickup, lost radio — stop. Land if it can be done without a second incident. Do not pull. First aid. Notify the site and the employer. Hold the scene.
