Care

Injured people get first aid and further care as required. Make the lift safe. Do not become the second event. Site first aid and the supervisor are both told.

Report

Injuries are reported the same shift — including what someone calls nothing. First aid report GOSPEL-FRM-012. Incident report as required. WorkSafeBC is notified as the law requires. Hiding an injury to finish a pick is how it becomes a worse injury.

Stay at work

A worker stays on shift only if the remaining work is safe given the injury. Sitting in a cab in pain is not modified work. See Return to Work.

Cooperate

The employer, the worker and the host cooperate on treatment, reporting and suitable duties. The file is not a defence brief. It is how the person gets care and the work gets safer.
