What changes at Level 2

Level 1 is ordinary work. Level 2 is the work that changes the crane or the plan: climbing and reconfiguration, self-erect assembly, engineered and multiple-crane lifts, suspended platforms. 140 hours of technical training. Level 1 SLE is required before Level 2.

Practice, then read the climb

REDTC tags Level 2 items in the practice room. For the actual climbing sequence used on site, read the Wire article and the Proven tower erection / climbing / dismantling procedure. The manufacturer’s sequence is the sequence.

Questions people ask

  • Does Level 2 include climbing?

Yes — climbing and reconfiguration are Level 2 topics. Practice the questions here. Do not treat a practice bank as the manufacturer’s climbing procedure.
