The Red Seal Program is Canada’s interprovincial standard in the skilled trades. A Red Seal endorsement on your Mobile Crane Operator CofQ lets you work in other Red Seal jurisdictions without rewriting the exam.
The current exam is based on the 2021 Red Seal Occupational Standard. 110 questions. 70% to pass. No code book.

HOW YOU GET CERTIFIED
Register
Register with BC Crane Safety, then enrol with SkilledTradesBC as an apprentice or trade qualifier with a sponsor.
Get Provisional Status
Pass Fulford’s provisional theory so you can operate under a written supervision plan while you train.
Train & Log Hours
Technical training is 12 weeks over three years (Level 1: 210 hours, Level 2: 140 hours, Level 3: 70 hours). Work-based training is 4,980 hours, including 1,600 operating hours (400 on specified lattice or >80 t hydraulic equipment). Log time in SkillRecord Passport.
Pass Exams & Practical
Level 1 SLE before Level 3 SLE and before the IP. 70% on written exams. SkilledTradesBC practical assessment. No code book.
